Kick-off: Teachtoday launches Web portal in Romania

Teachtoday, an initiative of the Deutsche Telekom AG, promotes safe and competent media use – and does so across national borders.

In cooperation with Telekom Romania, Teachtoday is now taking a further step towards going international. Alongside its English portal and international competition "Media sure! But secure.". Teachtoday is expanding its activities with a country portal for Romania.

Digitization of everyday life is a process that extends across languages, and the Social Web is networking the globe. That’s precisely why promoting media competency among children and adolescents is so important today. Young people have to get prepared for digitization so that they can take hold of the potential that the digital world offers while also competently facing its challenges. Teachtoday’s mission is thus to support children, teens, parents and grandparents as well as educational professionals with practice-oriented materials and tips that pertain to everyday life.

The Romanian Web portal was developed in cooperation with Telekom Romania. Telekom Romania has long been involved in digital education and is active in children’s and youth education, for example, with the “Coders Dojo Bucharest North” where young people get to develop websites, apps, programs and games in an extracurricular environment. These meet ups consist of free training for beginner programmers. Active for the last 4 years, the Bucharest Dojo is the oldest Dojo Club in the country.

The Romanian Web portal is now available at www.teachtoday.de/ro/.
