Cell phone, soccer, goal, goaaal! - The sustainability detectives visited the winning team of the cell phone collection campaign
In a nationwide Telekom campaign, amateur soccer clubs collected old cell phones. The campaign was not just about protecting the environment. With a bit of luck, there were also attractive prizes for the European Championship: one of them was won by the soccer club from Rheinbreitbach. The football-loving kids received a trip on the 1. FC Köln team bus and a visit to the Magenta TV studio in Cologne. The sustainability detectives accompanied the proud winners.
Collecting cell phones for the future
Under the motto "The square must go into the round", the German Football Association, together with Deutsche Telekom, called for old cell phones to be collected on the occasion of EURO 2024 so that they could either be reused or recycled. Wolfgang Metz, Managing Director of the Private Customers division at Deutsche Telekom and initiator of the cell phone collection campaign, explains in an interview (see above) with the sustainability detectives why Deutsche Telekom is so committed to sustainability.
